Operations Research Conference

The Operations Research Conference (ORC) is a collaboration of the study associations Asset|Econometrics, GEWIS and Industria, of respectively Econometrics & Operations Research in Tilburg, Applied Mathematics, Software/Web Science and Data Science, and Industrial Engineering in Eindhoven. On 26 April 2017, the second edition of the ORC will be organized. The discipline of Operations Research revolves around researching, developing and applying advanced mathematical, analytical models in order to facilitate the improvement of decision-making. This places Operations Research at the heart of many contemporary problems, helping organizations and companies create efficient and useful systems. Organizations in both the private and public sector have always relied on professionals using Operations Research for making informed, intelligent decisions. It thus has always had a strong connection with industry. Many companies make use of Operations Research in order to improve various processes, and therefore test and beat the limitations within their own company and within the market. Operations Research has always been the key element to go further, to innovate and to push the boundaries. Nowadays, with the ever increasing speed with which technology develops, the growing importance of globalization and a fast changing market, being able to think out of the box and beat the limits is essential. There are numerous ways to push boundaries, by recreating the way you think about logistics, by beating the infinite amount of available data, by being innovative in how and when to select personnel. There is no limit to what one can optimize with Operations Research to make a company more efficient and better prepared for the future. During this year’s Operations Research Conference, the main focus will therefore be how to beat the limits. Companies will show how they push boundaries, innovate and go beyond what seems possible. It will promise to be a very inspiring and informative day and hopefully exceed the limits of your expectations. http://orconference.com/lectures-and-cases/ Program: 09:15-09:45 Registration 09:45-10:00 Welcome 10:00-10:30 Opening Plenary Speech 10:45-11:30 Parallel Company Lectures – Round 1 11:30-11:55 Short Break 11:55-12:40 Parallel Company Lectures – Round 2 12:40-13:30 Lunch 13:30-15:45 Parallel Company Cases 16:00-16:30 Closing Plenary Speech 16:30-16:45 Closing 16:45-18:00 Network Event NB: 3rd year bachelor students and master students of mathematics will be given priority.
